Traverse City State Hospital Paintings

First exhibited at the Con Foster Museum, Traverse City, Michigan, these images portray Ken Cooper's artisitic vision of the architectural beauty seen on the campus of the Traverse City State Hospital. Though once a 'self supporting community within a community' these 19th century buildings had long been in disuse and decay. Today, several of the 'cottages' have been renovated as part of Munson Medical Center campus and Building 50 (pictured above) itself is being redeveloped as senior housing appartments.
